Working a little backwards to what I'm used to, essentially the brief was that the client needed a name for her environment-based company but knew she wanted to use a toad as her icon, or mascot if you'd prefer. Generally I dislike having defined visual outcomes at the beginning, but upon inquiring as to why she chose the toad, it became clear there was no real other choice: The toad is a known indicator species, meaning due to its sensitivity it is one of the first species to feel the effects of changes to their ecosystem. (Brilliant!)
